Miguel Torres Chile starts a campaign of solidarity to help the earthquake victims

After the earthquake in Chile on 27 February and the aftershocks of last week, it's now time to combine all our efforts and forge forward.

Part of the campaign of solidarity set up by Miguel Torres Chile is the sum of 50.000 euros donated to the Municipality of Curicó, to be used in rebuilding and improving the city's schools, which were badly affected by the earthquake. To this end, Miguel Torres Maczassek, Executive Chairman of the Chilean winery, together with the mayor of Curicó, visited the damaged areas to immediately arrange the work required. This will help children to start the school year as soon as possible.

Miguel Torres Chile also quickly started up an action plan to distribute food and other essential items in damaged and particularly remote areas, to help its employees and their families. For those working at the winery who have lost their homes, the company has arranged prefabricated wooden houses to be bought, which will undoubtedly help them to live more comfortably and safely than at present. The first orders will go to those with young children.

In order to help Chilean families affected by the earthquake and to assist in reconstructing the city of Curicó, Miguel Torres Chile has opened a bank account to receive international aid. This is due to the wonderful response received by the winery on the part of friends, distributors and even anonymous people who have written to express their support and concern.

Sara Andrews, wife of Miguel Torres Maczassek, will be the on-ground supervisor for the effort to supply homes for those families most in need.

Torres is deeply grateful for the huge support and interest shown by all its clients and friends, as well as by the media, who have displayed such concern for our people.
